Who We Are

This website trades as Make an Injury Claim ("we", "us", "our"). We are an introducer service. We are not a law firm. Our role is to receive enquiries and refer them to our partner firm of regulated Scottish solicitors.

The data controller responsible for your personal data is YK MCR Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16918832), whose registered office is 62 Church Road, Gatley, Cheadle, SK8 4NQ, trading as Make an Injury Claim. Our registration with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is currently pending.

What Data We Collect

When you submit a claim check form, we collect:

Full name, email address, phone number, and postcode
Details of your accident, injuries, and claim type — this can include information about your health, which is "special category" data under Article 9 of the UK GDPR
How you heard about us (if provided)
Your consent record (including the date and time you gave consent)
Technical data: IP address (for Cloudflare Turnstile security check)

How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

Pass your enquiry to our partner solicitors for assessment
Send you a confirmation email acknowledging receipt of your enquiry
Comply with legal obligations

Legal Basis for Processing

Details of your accident, injuries, and health are special category data under Article 9 of the UK GDPR. We process this information only on the basis of your explicit consent under Article 9(2)(a) of the UK GDPR — the consent you give when you tick the consent box before submitting the claim check form.

For our processing under Article 6 of the UK GDPR, our lawful bases are:

Consent — Article 6(1)(a): for handling your enquiry and passing it to our partner solicitors so they can assess your claim.
Legitimate interests — Article 6(1)(f): for administering and responding to your enquiry, keeping a record of enquiries we receive, and protecting our website from spam and abuse. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance them against your rights and freedoms.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect any processing we carried out before you withdrew it.

Who We Share Your Data With

We share your data with:

Our partner solicitors — for the purpose of assessing and progressing your claim
Airtable — our data management platform (data stored in the USA with EU-US Data Privacy Framework protections)
Brevo — for sending confirmation emails (France, EU)
Cloudflare — for website infrastructure and Turnstile spam protection

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

If You Start But Do Not Finish the Form

Our claim check form is completed in steps. If you enter your contact details (name, email, phone, and postcode) but do not complete and submit the form, we may retain those contact details only so we can follow up with you about your enquiry. We do not store any details of your accident, injuries, or health unless you complete the form and give your explicit consent by ticking the consent box. If you would prefer us not to hold your contact details, contact us and we will delete them.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep your personal data for up to 24 months from your last contact with us, so we can administer your enquiry and any resulting referral to our partner solicitors. After this period we securely delete it, unless we are required to keep it for longer to meet a legal obligation. If your enquiry proceeds to a claim with our partner solicitors, that firm will hold your data under its own privacy policy and retention arrangements.

Your Rights

Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to:

Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data
Portability — receive the data you gave us in a portable format, or have it transferred to another organisation
Objection — object to processing we carry out on the basis of our legitimate interests
Withdraw consent — withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before you withdrew it
Complain to the ICO — lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we handle your data
